Debate Coaching

University
Debating

The most beneficial extra-curricular activity an academic institution can offer its students is debating!

It is the art, the medium, and the most comprehensive, challenging, and experiential platform for developing professional and academic skills for the 21st century: communication and persuasion, eloquent expression, critical thinking, and logical reasoning.

A successful debate club shines positively on the academic institution where it operates, and draws bright students. Everyone can benefit from a university that provides debate instruction at the highest level in the world, whether they are law students seeking to sharpen their rhetorical skills before appearing in court, or STEM students looking for an outlet for their verbal abilities. Employers view debate accomplishments (and even participation in a renowned debate club) as valuable CV items.

Debate what is it?

Debate is an intellectual sport where people compete for the ability to persuade on a particular topic and position. Debate is an old academic tradition with roots in Cambridge, England, in the 18th century. Within it, topics such as economics, philosophy, politics, law, art, gender, sports, international relations, and more are discussed.

Worldwide debating experience is an excellent springboard for public service, academia, the justice system, and private sector careers. It is no wonder, then, that prominent public figures (Barack Obama, Henry Kissinger, Margaret Thatcher, and others), Supreme Court justices (Alito, Sotomayor, Brown Jackson), novelists (Sally Rooney), and entertainers (Stephen Colbert, Oprah Winfrey) are all debate alums.

Training at the highest level

From my first year coaching in academic debate clubs, I have helped many students achieve some of the world's most coveted debate titles. Among them are world champions, European finalists, Israeli national champions, Israeli champions in their first year, and more. I intend to surpass all these and bring my students to new heights.

Whether or not you win medals, participating in a debate club during your academic studies is a triumph for life.

I promise you that no matter where you start, you will improve. Over my decade in the field, I have helped speakers who were insecure and ran off the stage within a minute, turn into speakers who captivate their audiences and deliver impressive speeches. At the same time, I helped speakers with raw talent become true champions. Everyone is capable of becoming charismatic and persuasive.

Teaching debate in a systematic and serious manner is important to me. You can grasp it from the start, even if perfecting it takes a long time. I aim to provide sharp, clear, and constructive feedback that helps you become a better debater in real-life. That's because I view debate as a gift that should be given to others. Moreover, debate contributes to improving  the discourse culture in society at large.
